Nice, Eze and Monaco in one private day

Three very different places, one day, and a private guide who drives. You start in the old streets and markets of Nice, climb to the medieval village of Eze on its rocky peak, then finish among the palace, the Grand Prix circuit and the Casino of Monaco.

1. Nice, the city painters loved

Nice has the warmth of Italy and the polish of France. Your guide takes you through the cobbled lanes of the Old Town (Vieux Nice), and you will see why painters and poets have come here for so long.

• Place Masséna and the Opera House: the city’s grand square with its sculptures and red-ochre facades, then the elegant Nice Opera House.
• Cours Saleya market: the flower and food market, where the smell of fresh flowers mixes with the sea air.
• A taste of Nice: we take you to authentic Niçois street food, away from the tourist traps. Try a slice of socca or a pissaladière, the local onion tart.

2. Eze, a medieval village above the sea

From the coast we drive up the Moyenne Corniche to Eze. The village sits like an eagle’s nest on a rocky peak, and the views from the top are some of the best on the Riviera.

• Stone alleys full of artisan workshops and perfumeries, including the well-known Fragonard.
• The panorama from the summit: the Mediterranean below and the green peninsula of Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat. Bring your camera.

3. Monaco and Monte-Carlo

We end the day in the Principality of Monaco, famous for its royal family, its wealth and its motor racing.

• The Rock (Monaco-Ville): the Prince’s Palace, the narrow streets of the old town, the cathedral where Princess Grace is buried, the gardens, and the Oceanographic Museum built into the cliff.
• The Grand Prix circuit: we drive the actual Formula 1 route, including the famous Fairmont Hairpin and the tunnel.
• The Casino district: the Belle Époque Grand Casino, the supercars parked out front, and the Casino Gardens if you want a quieter moment.
