Typical architecture of Provencal Romanesque art the monastery of Saint Paul, appears in the landscape thanks to its beautiful Romanesque bell tower with two floors of square plan topped with a pyramidal roof.

Inside is a magnificent Romanesque cloister of the eleventh and twelfth century. In the center of the promenade, a flower garden delicately maintained gives the vaults all their nobility.

The monastery is also famous for having hosted and inspired Vincent Van Gogh who stayed there from May 3, 1889 to May 16, 1890, after a quarrel with the painter Paul Gauguin Van Gogh was interned for a year in this hospital, it was the most productive time of his life because he painted 150 of his most famous paintings…

Saint Rémy de Provence, this village where Nostradamus was born  Is a city of history, on one of the oldest archaeological sites in Europe. The remains of the Comptoir de Glanum founded in the 3rd century BC, reworked by the Romans under Jule Cesar.  Situated in the heart of the Alpilles, Saint Rémy is one of the « must-sees » in Provence. Surrounded by lush green perfumed valleys, its ancient streets are lined with beautifully restored old houses… you will quickly be seduced by Saint Rémy’s charm!

While strolling through the narrow winding streets you will discover fantastic old fountains, shady squares, picturesque restaurants and elegant boutiques. Saint-Rémy-de-Provence is also reputed for its famous Provencal market which takes place every Wednesday.

The village of Les Baux de Provence is located in the heart of the Alpilles on a rocky plateau at 245 meters above sea level, and offers you breathtaking panoramas on the Alpilles.
The village is officially classified and labelled as « one of the most beautiful villages in France ».

Its historical heritage is exceptional with a treasure of 22 architectural pieces classified as a Historic Monument: church, castle, city hall, hospital, chapels, houses, doors …
The Citadelle des Baux located at the top of the village is a must. The 7-hectare site will allow you to explore the main vestiges of the troubled and tumultuous past of Les Baux de Provence: Ruins of the medieval castle, donjon, chapel, exhibitions of siege machines, Saracen tower …
